This playground is at the back of Fernwood Community Centre. This is a good park for toddlers at that middle ground between being adept at the big kids equipment and too big for the toddler toys. Although there is climbing apparatus, a lot of it is pretty easy for smaller kids to use. As well as the standard monkey bars and balance buttons there is a rock climbing frame up to the bigger slide, but because it’s on a slant, it is much easier to use. I definitely think the younger kids will get a sense of accomplishment in this playground.

There’s two swings for the bigger kids and two for the smaller, as well as the climbing equipment and slides. There are some dexterity toys including a ship’s wheel. No playground is complete without a fake ship’s wheel! The ground here is like rubbers sports flooring but some of it has come loose and been replaced, so keep an eye on wobbly walking babes!

Right next to the playground is some green space. Although you see quite a few dogs being exercised, this is a good spot for a picnic, though there is not much shade.
